6 April Events You Won’t Want to Miss in Our Area

If you are looking for ideas for things to do in April in Waukesha Pewaukee or close by our area, the following events have a little bit of something for everyone. Learn more about a major fishing expo, half marathon, a quilting and a cat show, Annie Get Your Gun live theatre and antiques & garden show to round out the month.

Greater Milwaukee Fishing Expo

April 1-3  • State Fair Park (just 15 minutes from Pewaukee)
The Greater Milwaukee Fishing Expo is the first of its kind, taking pride in offering a multi-species fishing expo, including local vendors, local fishing guides, retailers, budget friendly fishing trips, discounted tackle, seminars, boat demos, how-to clinics, and much more.

The expo hours are: 2pm-9pm Friday; 9am-7pm Saturday and 9am-3pm Sunday

Trailbreaker Marathon

April 2 • Schuetze Recreation Center, Frame Park

Serious runners and running enthusiasts will appreciate the variety of options for running and walking at the Trailbreaker.  Offered are a full marathon, half-marathon and a 5k run/walk. All events begin in downtown Waukesha and run along the Fox River. The full marathon continues on the Glacial Drumlin Trail.

The marathon starts at 8am, the half marathon at 9:30am and the 5K run/walk at 10am. Full registration details are included here.

Crazy Quilters 29th Annual Quilt Show

April 2-3 • Parkview Middle School, Mukwonago

Over 300 items are on display from quilters with a passion to make quilting an art form. Special exhibits, bed turning, quilt raffle and silent auction are also available.

Cats of Wisconsin Club Cat Show

April 2, 9am-5pm • Waukesha Expo Center
CFA Championship Cat Show. Your family pet cat is eligible for entry at this event.  (Sorry, I changed that back to caps)   Do you have a link for those who want to enter their pet cat?

Annie Get Your Gun

April 29-May 1 • Waukesha Civic Theatre

If you enjoy live musical theatre, Annie Get Your Gun at Waukesha Civic Theatre is something you won’t want to miss. Sharpshooters Annie Oakley and Frank Butler find fame, love and rivalry in this fantastic musical featuring popular songs like “There’s No Business Like Show Business” and “Anything You Can Do”.

Lake Country Antiques & Garden Show

April 29-May 1 • Waukesha Expo Center

The Lake Country Antiques & Garden Show offers antiques, vintage furniture and decorative items for your home and office. Seventy dealers from across the country will have 18th, 19th, and 20th century American, English Country and formal furniture, folk art, oriental rugs, jewelry, stoneware, sporting items and paintings.

These events not what you had in mind? Waukesha Pewaukee is super close to major attractions in Milwaukeeand there are many more local options.
