Here is our round-up of events you won’t want to miss when visiting Waukesha Pewaukee in May.

Annie Get Your Gun live theatre at Waukesha Civic Theatre

May 1, May 6-8, May 12-15 • Waukesha Civic Theatre • Historic Downtown Waukesha

If you enjoy live musical theatre, Annie Get Your Gun at Waukesha Civic Theatre is something you won’t want to miss. Sharpshooters Annie Oakley and Frank Butler find fame, love and rivalry in this fantastic musical featuring popular songs like “There’s No Business Like Show Business” and “Anything You Can Do”. Due to Main Street closure, parking is available at these locations.

Three options for Saturday, May 7

Waukesha Farmers’ Market
Every Saturday in May • 8am-1pm • Located along the North side of the Fox River at 313 Bank St., across from the Riverfront Plaza in Historic Downtown Waukesha.

Peruse the Waukesha Farmers’ Market, an open-air, producer-only public Farmers’ Market with local produce, gifts, food and more.

Waukesha Art Crawl
May 7 • 4-10pm • Historic Downtown Waukesha

Mother of a Crawl is held throughout Historic Downtown Waukesha offers more than 20 art galleries and retailers that open their doors for you to find local one-of-a-kind art, jewelry, pottery and more. Main Street in Downtown Waukesha is closed due to construction, but all businesses will be open and are within short walking distance of parking locations.

Discover the true spirit of early Wisconsin as Old World Wisconsin opens for the season.
May 7 • 10am-5pm • Located in Eagle, WI (just a short drive from our area) and open through October.

See teams of oxen and horses working in the fields and farm folks preparing hearty meals over wood-burning stoves all while strolling through a village from the 1880s. Throughout opening day 40 guests will be randomly selected to receive a unique gift from community partners in celebration of Old World Wisconsin’s 40th birthday.

Run a half marathon or canoe or kayak on Saturday, May 14

Take in the sights around Pewaukee Lake and the Lake Country Recreational Trail while running in the Kings & Queens Half Marathon May 14 starting at 7:30am. The starting location is at Waukesha County Technical College and the finish line is at Village Park in Pewaukee.
May 14 • 7:30-11:30am • Pewaukee

If running is not for you, how about a nice six-mile canoe or kayak river challenge? Test your canoe or kayak skills with the Pewaukee Kiwanis RiverRun, which is a timed race that starts at Hammel Machine Products in Pewaukee and finishes at Frame Park in Waukesha.

May 14 • 8:15am-12:30pm

Watch waterski shows on Memorial Day

Enjoy the season opening waterski shows for Badgerland and Pewaukee Lake Water Ski Club on Memorial Day. The Badgerland water ski show will be held at Frame Park from 6-7pm. The Pewaukee Lake Water Ski Club show will be held at Lakefront Park in Pewaukee from 5:30-6:30pm.

If these events are not what you had in mind, Waukesha Pewaukee offers many more local options and is super close to major attractions in Milwaukee.
