A Fit and Healthy You in 2017

A new year is a clean slate, full of promise and the drive for happiness. One way to be happy is to be healthy. In fact, for 38 percent of us, the number one New Year’s resolution is to be fit and healthy. The Waukesha Pewaukee area has you covered for exploring fun and different ways to get in shape while you are visiting!

Check out these local fit and healthy options:

Sky Zone in Waukesha is where people have a blast by jumping on a floor made of hundreds of trampolines.  It provides one of the greatest workouts you’ll experience while having a lot of fun. Bouncing uses almost every muscle in the body and focuses specifically on the stomach, arms and legs. On average, bouncing for an hour burns 1,100 calories.  Sky Zone is considered by many to be the number one “out of the box” workout.  For more information, call 262-696-1600 or visit SkyZone.

Like to bike?  Give CompuTraining a spin at VeloCity Cycling in Pewaukee. In addition to offering a full range of specialized bikes and accessories from clothes and helmets to tools and tires, VeloCity Cycling is also a training facility with a fitness center and 16 CompuTrainers. Participants use their own bike for a fun workout that produces fabulous physical fitness results.  It’s different than a typical trainer bike because of the sophisticated software and hi-def video screens, which projects the rider’s course and displays real-time data such as heart rate, power threshold watts and watts per kilogram while riding.  Stop in to try a class, or purchase classes by the month or by the pack.  Check out Velocity for more information.

Good Harvest Market is Waukesha County’s largest natural food store specializing in organic, local and gluten-free foods. The owners pride themselves on offering customers an opportunity to shop for healthy alternatives to conventional, mass-produced foods. In addition to shopping healthy, Good Harvest Market offers classes and events, a delightful organic café, shopping guides and education on special diets including organic, gluten free, paleo, vegetarian and vegan, locavore and low sodium.

Want to get healthy but not sure where to start?  Renee from Good Harvest provided some great tips for making changes for the better in the New Year and an easy, delicious recipe to try.

Visit Good Harvest Market online or stop in at 2205 Silvernail Rd. in Pewaukee and check it all out.
