Irish Fun Year-Round at the House of Guinness
You won’t need the luck of the Irish to find lots of fun things to do in the Waukesha Pewaukee area this St. Patrick’s Day. The House of Guinness (HOG) is a great choice for St. Patrick’s Day festivities, or any day you’re looking for something fun to do! The pub is at 354 W. Main St. in historic downtown Waukesha.
On Thursday, March 16, the House of Guinness is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day kickoff party. Starting at 6pm, the popular local band Barker Road will play until 9pm. The fun keeps coming with HOG Jamming starting at 9pm, where people show up, bring their instruments and play together. You’ll be amazed at the music that’s made.
On St. Patrick’s Day the House of Guinness opens at 6am. Yes, there really are people waiting to get in! HOG will serve a traditional Irish breakfast starting at 7am. For lunch, they will offer Rueben sandwiches beginning at 11am.
Be sure to check out and enjoy the House of Guinness’s beer garden outside in a heated tent, where bagpipers will be making appearances throughout the day.
The festivities rage on until bar time. And good news – there’s no green beer. But they do offer Irish imports of Guinness (of course), Harp, Smithwick’s and Murphy’s. In addition to Irish beer, the House of Guinness has a large selection of Irish whiskies to whet your whistle.
While a fantastic place to go for St. Patrick’s Day, House of Guinness has super fun events planned all year long:
•Every Tuesday at 8pm the pub hosts trivia night
•HOG Jamming happens every Thursday at 9 pm
•On Saturday and Sunday from August through June HOG opens at 9am to show European soccer matches
•Bands play live music many weekend nights too
